Honey Lemonade

Honey Lemonade

This past weekend, we had my youngest daughters second birthday party. I’m still trying to come to terms with the fact that my baby is two already but nonetheless, her party turned out great! I decided on a lemonade themed party and it was a hit! The room was decorated in yellow and pink and I served lemonade (of course), lemon angel food cake, and a watermelon-lemon ice, among other things. Everyone seemed to have a great time and enjoy the food which, in my book is a success! Most importantly, the birthday girl was happy as could be and was more than a little spoiled by all of her friends and family! She was also spoiled with a glass of this honey lemonade!

Honey in lemonade is kind of genius. When you add the honey to the lemon juice and water, it gives it a beautiful yellow color. The color is reminiscent of that found in the bottled or powder mix variety but, by using the honey, you are able to achieve the appealing coloring without having to consume the dyes and additives found in the premixed kind. The honey does more than color the lemonade however. It also gives it a lovely sweetness and an overall smooth taste. This refreshing summer drink is sure to satisfy!

  1. This recipe really is genius! How can you go wrong using a natural sweetener in lemonade. I really don’t like the taste of artificial sweeteners in lemonade and using sugar is just out of the question for me. I love it. By the way, your little girls are darling. I love their blue eyes!

    • Thank you! I was much happier serving my kiddos (and party guest) a natural sweetener as opposed to refined sugar. And it taste great too!

  2. Aww your girls are adorable!! Happy birthday to the birthday girl! Lemonade looks delicious too, the yellow color is gorgeous! your little one’s are definitely stealing the show though :)
